Victimized Barbria narrowly escapes a horrible crime
The state of the world is truly in trouble, more so now than ever before. Now that the holidays are approaching it seems to be getting even worse. We are afraid of terrorist, snipers, child molesters, Corporate Layoffs and everyday the news seems to have yet another catastrophic story that effects our lives.
I thought I was the only one who was going through a series of problems until I spoke with my girl Barbria.
I last spoke with Barbria towards the end of May during her Godson and her Nephews birthday party, and all was very well. Barbria was on her way to Paris, France to sing and I was so incredibly jealous. However, I soon learned that her plans were spoiled. Unfortunately, Barbria was in a car accident, where she was broadsided by a drunk driver. Nine days before she was scheduled to leave. Completely disgusted and in traction, Barbria was forced to forego her Paris trip.
Several months would pass and Barbria was back, hard at work on her career. She had written a book titled "The Story Beyond My Song." Not just another relationship book but a mood book, which covers all facets of love. The book features 20 chapters that go along with the double set CD which has 20 songs. Every chapter has its own song. A very unique concept.
I was very excited to hear that Barbria had gotten over her injuries and was back in the swing of things. She had even discovered a new talent of sketch art. Barbria was doing well, and I was happy for her. Then it happened. One night while working on a project for her Mother, a very thirsty Barbria decided to run to the gas station up the street. Having always done this, she figured what's the problem? However, this night was not the night to go out.
Barbria had somehow built up a false sense of security living in a gated community. However, it was just that, a false sense of security. For on this night while sitting in her car waiting for the security gate to open, a guy came up from behind with a gun attempting to car-jack her.
As the gate slowly opened he hit her drivers side window with the gun. Then Barbria did something I know I would not have done if in the same situation. She sped off, leaving the gunman standing there in apparent disbelief. Allowing the security camera to capture an excellent likeness.
Admittedly shaken, Barbria peeled out of the parking lot narrowly missing an oncoming vehicle. She immediately called the Police and gave a description of the alleged gunman. However, she later learned that the car, she narrowly missed hitting, was a young woman who was his next victim. Police later caught him in the young woman's vehicle.
Ladies, no matter where you are please be careful. Please believe there are people out there who pray on you simply because of your gender. I do not recommend that you drive off from a car jacker. Barbria's immediate reaction was quick thinking, but not the best idea. Your life is always more important than your possessions.
After the recent turn of events, Barbria's initial reaction was to move back to Chicago to be around family. Still apprehensive about leaving and coming home late at night. She maintains that she will stay in Atlanta in as much time as it takes her to finish her next project. I for one hopes she hurries up. We truly miss her around here. However, this girl has a guardian angel on her shoulder for sure.
